With over 35 years of experience, Tax Partner, John Slater, specializes in income tax planning and business consulting for a wide variety of closely held and family owned businesses. John works closely with his clients to assist them in developing and implementing business strategies and long-term financial and investment plans. In addition to serving clients in the real estate industry, John works with clients in agriculture, manufacturing, personal service industries and retail.

John has a broad range of experience in tax advantaged wealth transfer strategies and estate planning. He has extensive experience in the real estate industry and has assisted both real estate development and real estate investment clients in various matters including transactional planning, project analysis, accounting system and reporting design and implementation, cost segregation studies and property management matters.

John graduated from the University of California, Berkeley earning a Bachelor of Science degree from the School of Agriculture.  In addition, he earned a Master’s of Business Administration degree from San Jose State University in 1977.  As a licensed CPA in the state of California, he is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants.  Outside of work, John enjoys spending time with family and friends in Santa Cruz and Huntington Lake.  John is on the board of directors of the Huntington Lake volunteer fire department.
